Writing, but not blogging.
I kind of planned on going a month without making a blog post. However, instead, I planned on writing a novel for nanowrimo, National Novel Writing Month.
I failed.
For the first few weeks, though, I did give it a valiant effort. I made myself write 2,000 words a night; and honestly, it came pretty easily. Once I went on vacation, all was lost–I forgot to copy what I had been writing on the web, into a word document, for while I didn’t have Internet access; and I didn’t want to spend the astronomical fees to use Internet while on the ship. Then, at my dad’s house, he doesn’t have wifi, and I couldn’t get the cable modem to work with my laptop, never mind the fact that the cable was only three feet long and I would have had to basically sit under his desk to write.
Um, nope.
So here I sit, the last day of the month, with no blog posts and no novel–but what I do have is a head full of stories. They’re all the things that happened on vacation, and during the month that I was working on a novel. Just because I was writing for an hour a night doesn’t mean that other things weren’t going on.
So what for November, then? How about a thousand words a night? A thousand words is a good start, a decent goal, something easily achieveable for me. At least I think it is.
We’ll see how it goes. Like I always say, everything’s a story, and I have so much to tell you…
